Britney Jean Spears (McComb, Misisipi; 2 de diciembre de 1981) es una cantante, actriz , compositora , bailarina, modelo, diseñadora y empresaria estadounidense. Después del rapero Eminem, Britney Spears es la 2ª artista que vendió más álbumes durante toda la primera década del siglo XXI en Estados Unidos.[1]

Su primera aparición pública la realizó en 1992 en el programa Star Search, el que años más tarde le dio la oportunidad de ser parte del programa Mickey Mouse Club. En éste permaneció durante tres años (1993-96), período al que le siguió una unión con el grupo Innosense. No obstante, luego de unos meses Britney Spears firmó un contrato con el sello Jive Records. Tras ello, a finales de 1998 lanzó su sencillo debut, "...Baby One More Time", el que asombró a la industria musical, luego de convertirse en un éxito Nº 1 en más de 21 países, incluyendo a Estados Unidos.
